URA To Dispose Uncleared Goods
In a public notice, the tax regulatory body has urged the public especially those with uncleared good to make payments or else the goods to be auctioned.
The notice states, “Pursuant to Sec 42 (1) East African Community Customs Management Act
2004, the Commissioner Customs hereby notifies all the owners of goods that have exceeded their statutory clearance and warehousing period to clear the same within 30 days from the date of first publication of this Public
Notice by paying all the requisite taxes, fees, penalties, fines and charges that will have accrued thereon.
All the goods that remain un-cleared after the period of the 30 days’ notice shall be disposed of by way of public auction or otherwise as deemed fit by the Commissioner. The auction process shall be conducted online.

February, 2021 and end on 23rd February, 2021. The bidding process will run from 24th February to 1st March 2021.
